The Anti-Tariff Alliance: How a Trade War is Reshaping Global Politics

A new “anti-tariff alliance” is reshaping global politics, and its core members are India, China, and Russia. The leaders of these three nations used the recent SCO summit to project an image of formidable unity, a move that is being interpreted in the US as a direct challenge to American economic policy and global leadership.
Political commentator Van Jones highlighted the profound implications of this development, calling it a “historically big deal.” He warned that the image of Narendra Modi, Xi Jinping, and Vladimir Putin together is a harbinger of a “new world order” that is actively organizing against American interests.
The US administration’s trade war is the primary catalyst for this realignment. By imposing tariffs on friends and foes alike, Washington has inadvertently created a powerful incentive for other countries to cooperate with each other. The SCO summit demonstrated that this cooperation is now moving from theory to practice.
Jones expressed grave concern about America’s resulting isolation. “We are on the bad side of the triangle,” he stated, contrasting the current situation with more favorable past arrangements. In this new world, he argued, it’s “everybody against us,” a scenario that is unequivocally “not good for America.”
