Netanyahu to UN: ‘We Must Finish the Job’ in Gaza

In a clear and unwavering statement of military intent, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United Nations that Israel “must finish the job” in Gaza. His speech, delivered to a mostly empty General Assembly hall following a mass walkout, signaled no change in his approach to the nearly two-year-old war.
Netanyahu identified Gaza City as the last bastion of Hamas and pledged to continue the offensive there, despite global condemnation and warnings of a humanitarian catastrophe. His remarks came as rescue workers in Gaza reported dozens more deaths from Israeli strikes.
The Prime Minister also used the platform to lash out at the growing international recognition of a Palestinian state, a move he described as “sheer madness.” He accused the 157 nations that have taken this step of rewarding terrorism and making a “horribly wrong” decision.
The diplomatic rebuke was stark, with over 50 countries participating in the walkout. Even allies who remained, like the US and UK, were represented by junior staff. Despite this isolation, Netanyahu projected an image of strength, threatening Hamas leaders and demanding the release of all remaining hostages.
