Khamenei Surfaces After Hiding to Claim Iran “Slapped” America

In a rare public appearance following an extended absence, Iran’s Supreme Leader addressed his nation about the recent conflict’s outcome. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei showed visible signs of strain from the prolonged crisis, appearing notably aged and speaking with a weakened voice.
The Iranian leader’s speech focused on downplaying the effectiveness of US strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities while acknowledging substantial damage. UN nuclear inspectors confirmed extensive destruction to multiple atomic sites, though they stopped short of declaring the program completely eliminated.
Iran’s attack on American forces in Qatar was presented by Khamenei as evidence of his country’s ability to “slap” the United States despite the bombardment. He characterized this action as both successful retaliation and demonstration that American interests remain vulnerable throughout the Middle East.
The implementation of the ceasefire has allowed Iran to begin normalizing operations while maintaining its defiant international stance. The country has partially reopened its airspace and begun restoring civilian activities, though it faces significant challenges in rebuilding its nuclear infrastructure.
